A few weeks back, we celebrated Pain Free For Life Day. As part of the celebrations, we sat down with several practitioners to learn how microcurrent therapy has elevated their practices and allowed them to serve their clients better. Today, we will be sharing the story of Mike Taddeo, an RMT (Registered Massage Therapist) in Alberta, Canada.

Mike Taddeo’s Background
Mike was a lumberjack for 18 years, and if you know anything about this profession, you know that he understands the pitfalls of chronic pain better than anyone. After many injuries and a car crash, Mike decided to switch gears and get into the business of healing.
Mike’s Philosophy on Healing
Mike had this to say of his practice: “My training and experience have helped me successfully treat people from professional sports athletes, cross-fitters, weightlifters, skaters, trades workers, football and more. I enjoy working with injuries helping my patients return to a pain free state with increased range of motion. I believe in a work-life balance where I apply my other passions, such as photography, fly fishing, carpentry, amateur radio, and a love for motorcycles.”
My Favorite quote: “I have a personal vengeance against every injury, and I want to fix them.”
The Challenge Mike Faced Before Pain Free For Life
To keep his certification up to date, Mike was required to participate in various CEUs (or continuing education units). CEU requirements are expected with any certification or licensing board and ensure practitioners keep up with the latest advancements in their field.
Because Mike was interested in learning how to become a microcurrent practitioner, he started searching for training online. “Everything I could find was related to a microcurrent facelift.”
After further searching, In a quest to better serve his clients and stay on track with his CEUs, Mike finally found Pain Free For Life. Mike reached out to Dr. Rob Vanbergen and started communicating about how he could receive training, and the rest is history!
Why Mike Chose to Work with Pain Free For Life
Mike told us, “Anyone can sell a microcurrent device, but when talking with Rob, I realized I needed actual training, and that’s what he provided, so I bought the Avazzia Life Evolution. At first, my wife was worried about the cost, but I told her that if it works on 20% of the people I serve, it puts me ahead of the game. It’s something different.”
At the beginning of 2020, Mike was registered for one of our in-person microcurrent training events, but when COVID hit, they all had to be canceled. So,Dr. Rob organized a private training for Mike, where it all came together.
Mike had this to say of the private training experience:
“The only good thing to come out of COVID is that I got to do a private training with Dr. Rob at his parent’s house. I got to meet John and Lorry Hache!”.
Mike shared: “When I started using the device, I was amazed at what it could do. Vagus nerve stimulation, in particular, was of interest to me.”The learning curve wasn’t a barrier for Mike. He found the Evolution and the Pro Sport III to be very user-friendly. But at points, he lacked confidence with the protocols and attributed his eventual success to the in-depth training Pain Free For Life provided.
Dr. Rob reminded Mike, “there’s very little damage you can do with microcurrent, really only benefit. So be confident in experimenting”. This helped to further Mike’s confidence in applying microcurrent protocols to various ailments and injuries.
The Results: How Mike Elevated His Practice With Microcurrent Therapy
“After learning how to use it properly, I can’t say enough about the device,” Mike told us.”I started with the Evolution and instantly upgraded to the Pro Sport III (this was before the Avazzia Life Pinnacle came out).”
Mike has gone on to use microcurrent therapy to treat a variety of injuries and conditions in his practice to great success, such as:
- Debilitating Headaches
- Sports injuries
- On-the-job injuries
- Scar tissue
And much, much more!
“I’ve had clients struggling with debilitating health issues from anywhere from 1.5 – 4 years before finally receiving relief through microcurrent. If a client can’t pay, I extend the treatment gratis because I got into this to help people.” Mike shared.

Today, Mike’s practice is thriving, and because he is one of the only Hache Protocol ™ Certified Microcurrent Practitioners in his area, he is busier than ever. His retirement plans have been pushed back so he can focus on helping his community.
We asked Mike if he thought his investment in an Avazzia microcurrent device was worth it, and he shared:
“Is it worth it? Any medical device is going to be expensive. For the amount that I use my device, roughly 4-5 hours a day, it’s definitely worth it. You will only benefit from it. That’s all I can say”.
