Welcome to the Pain Free for Life podcast. In this episode, Dr. Rob Vanbergen talks with Dr. Mansi Vira about mind-body connection as well as breathwork and the healing power of the vagus nerve. Dr. Mansi has a doctorate in naturopathic medicine from the University of Bridgeport and practices as a functional and holistic practitioner specializing in chronic disease. As a kid, Dr. Mansi discovered that she found greater healing through holistic practices than in traditional medicine. This early practice helped her eventually end up in holistic medicine practice. Dr. Rob and Dr. Mansi discuss the importance of gut health in healing the entire system. Dr. Mansi also advocates for breathwork. She sees how these exercises profoundly affect her patients and their vagus nerve. Dr. Mansi has seen patience, with the use of breathwork, reduce anxiety and depression considerably. Dr. Rob and Dr. Mansi discuss how self care is critical to empowering healing within your body. Dr. Mansi’s treatments are individualized for her patients but she always implements a mind-body connection for all clients. Dr. Mansi also utilizes tapping, which is using pressure points on the body to help send signals to the body to relax and start the healing process.
