Microcurrent Case Study: How Kaija Freed Herself From CRPS Pain

Kaija – Age 16

Chronic pain can be difficult to identify and diagnose in children. This is a true story about a young person who was diagnosed with CRPS, a chronic pain condition, and how she found relief with the help of microcurrent therapy.

A Child in Pain

Kaija was just 11 when she suffered a serious injury to her right ankle. Despite her youth, after the injury Kaija’s pain began to get worse instead of better. Before long she was in debilitating neurological pain. This is when Kaija’s mom decided it was time to get some answers.

It took six months and seeing several doctors before getting diagnosed. Because she was so young to develop this rare systemic condition, many of the doctors didn’t believe there could be anything wrong with her. They told her that it was all in her head, and advised her mother that Kaija was just seeking attention. Luckily, Kaija’s parents believed in her. They knew there must be something terribly wrong, as Kaija was not they kind of child to make things up for attention, and there was visual trauma to her ankle and foot.

Without a real diagnosis or a treatment plan after seeing no less than five specialists, she lived with this unfathomable pain condition for six months. These were the hardest months of Kaija’s life. The pain began to spread systemically, keeping this once bright, vibrant, and happy kid bed ridden and racked with pain. Eventually it got so bad that she was unable to attend school or participate in the extracurricular activities she had once loved.

At long last, an orthopedic surgeon diagnosed Kaija with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. Kaija and her family finally had some answers.

What is CRPS?

CRPS, or complex regional pain syndrome, is a chronic pain condition that typically develops after surgery, injury, stroke or heart attack. CRPS initially affects a limb, but over time can spread throughout the body, becoming systemic.

Symptoms of CRPS include:

  • Swelling
  • Pain
  • Joint stiffness
  • Changes in skin color and temperature
  • Tremors and muscle spasms
  • Atrophy of muscles
  • Osteoporosis
  • Reduced mobility of the affected area
  • Hair and nail changes
  • Sensitivity to heat or cold

Conventional CRPS treatment often focuses on simply managing the pain rather than resolving it, using prescription drugs that include narcotics, opioids, and antidepressants. Since these often come with serious side effects and can lead to addiction, Kaija and her family decided to pursue natural and holistic regional complex pain syndrome solutions.

Natural CRPS Treatment Success

After some research, they found Dr. Hache and the Pain Free For Life Community. With nothing left to lose Kaija’s mom, Kim, reached out to us and scheduled an appointment.

After assessing Kaija’s CRPS symptoms and the progression of her illness, we designed a custom treatment plan for her that didn’t include a handful of pharmaceuticals. First, we administered microcurrent therapy to correct the problems in Kaija’s nervous system. The initial goal was to bring Kaija’s pain to a stable and manageable point. After 5 consecutive treatments, she reported that her pain had gone from a 10 to a 1! This was so encouraging for Kaija and her family! Seeing a light at the end of the tunnel, we moved forward in her treatment with the goal of eliminating it fully.

The progress we achieved with Kaija was also bolstered by her practicing meditation and stress management tools. In conjunction with Kaija’s lifestyle changes, osteopathy treatments were administered, and we recommended the Sana Therapeutics Health Blanket for home use. Through this treatment plan, we were able to begin to heal the nerve.

Road to Full Recovery

We have successfully isolated Kaija’s condition and continue to implement the protocols listed above to ensure a successful recovery. When we asked  Kaija what she thought about the healing properties of microcurrent, she told us: “After 5 years of suffering from CRPS I have control of my condition and I am on the road to a full recovery.”

Today, Kaija is back to school, socializing with her friends, and appreciating her health more than ever.

If Your Child Is In Pain…

When young people experience chronic pain, it can be very difficult to identify and treat. Kaija’s mom, Kim, knew there was something very wrong with her daughter and made it her mission to figure it out and get it treated. If your child is experiencing pain that just won’t go away, there could be a serious underlying issue that needs to be addressed right away.

The main lesson to learn from Kaija’s story is to never give up on yourself or your child, and to keep pushing for the treatment that works.
