Behind the Scenes at Pain Free For Life: Small Team. Big Results.

Overview: Behind the Scenes at Pain Free For Life (TL;DR)

Pain Free For Life is not a big, faceless operation. It’s a small, intentional team doing careful work for people who need real support.

  • Small team, real humans. Orders are packed and double-checked, and messages are answered one by one.
  • Where it started. At a microcurrent training in Montreal, Dr. Lorry met Dr. John Hache. It was a meeting of the hearts and minds that changed everything.
  • What came next? Together, they created The Hache Protocol for Pain Resolution™, a whole-body holistic framework to address chronic pain, inflammation, autoimmune symptoms, and more.
  • The Avazzia Life line. The Hache family later collaborated with Avazzia to develop and bring the Avazzia Life line of microcurrent devices to the world, including the Avazzia Life Pinnacle, Avazzia Life Pinnacle Lite, Avazzia Life Evolution, Avazzia Genesis II, and Avazzia Blue.
  • What does it mean for you? Our talented team of Treatment Coordinators means more care, more consistency, and thoughtful human support when you need help.

If you’ve been trying to figure it out alone, you don’t have to here.

Many of our clients find Pain Free For Life after trying many other options. So when they place an order or send a message, it’s normal to assume there’s a big operation on the other end. There isn’t.

We’re a small team doing careful work, day after day, for real people who are tired of guessing.

This video is a quick look at what “small team” actually means around here. You’ll see how orders are packed and double-checked on a busy day.

That brings us back to where this all began…

It All Started With a Room Full of “Last Chances”

Long before podcasts, online courses, and global communities, there were conferences and seminars.

In April 2000, Dr. Lorry Hache traveled to Montreal for an intensive training on microcurrent therapy. She sat in a room full of practitioners from Canada, the U.S., and the U.K., listening to a Russian teacher, with a busy translator, describe something that sounded almost too hopeful at the time. A gentle, non-invasive way to support healing by working with the body’s own electrical communication.

For the first few days, the group practiced on each other. They studied protocols, heard case stories, and stayed up late trying to absorb as much as possible.

Then, on the fourth morning, patients arrived. Many were in wheelchairs. Some were on stretchers. Some came with caregivers at their side. Most had been told that nothing more could be done. For them, this room and this unfamiliar approach felt like a last resort.

As the trainer worked with each person using microcurrent, the room watched small but real changes unfold. More ease. More movement. Less visible strain. A woman who had been unable to uncurl from pain sat up. Another, who reacted to nearly every food, was encouraged to try a real meal and experienced no reaction for the first time in years.

For Dr. Lorry, it was not just impressive; it was extraordinary. It was clarifying. It marked the beginning of what would eventually become Pain Free For Life: helping people understand that the body often has more capacity than we’ve been led to believe when it receives the right kind of support.

If you want the story about how she met Dr. John Hache, in Dr. Lorry’s own words, you can pick up the Wall Street Journal bestselling book, The Hache Protocol for Pain Resolution, here.

From One Family’s Small Practice to a Global Community

After that training in Montreal, Drs. John and Lorry Hache had a meeting of the heart and mind, and as a couple, decided to bring microcurrent therapy to North America. Soon, their integrative practice, Pacific Health Options, in BC, Canada, opened and started serving patients.

For decades, they focused on one person at a time. They developed customized protocols for people living with acute, chronic, and intractable pain, and they refined what would become The Hache Protocol for Pain Resolution™.

It’s a holistic framework that combines microcurrent therapy with foundational practices such as sleep, nutrition, stress regulation, and gentle movement. The goal is to help the body rebalance, not just chase symptoms. Then came the next evolution.

With their son, Dr. Rob Vanbergen, they decided to take this work beyond the clinic walls. They launched the Pain Free For Life blog, the Pain Free For Life YouTube channel, support communities, and eventually the Pain Free For Life Podcast.

In early 2025, they also launched Pain Free Living Magazine to give clients around the world a steadier place to learn. Inside you’ll find anti-inflammatory recipes, real case studies, and stories from people navigating chronic pain and autoimmune patterns, plus practical guidance you can use in everyday life.

Dr. Rob Vanbergen: From a Struggling Kid to Doctor of Natural Medicine

When we say Pain Free For Life is built on lived experience, we truly mean it.

As a child, Rob struggled with severe anxiety and significant scoliosis. His family tried many approaches, holistic and conventional, and he knows what it feels like to search for relief.

Under the guidance of Drs. John and Lorry, Rob began using the same microcurrent-based approach they were refining for their patients. Over time, his pain, posture, and anxiety shifted in ways that finally felt sustainable. That experience changed his health, and it changed his direction.

Rob went on to study Holistic Health Sciences and earned his Doctorate and Ph.D. in Natural Medicine, focusing his dissertation on non-invasive microcurrent vagus nerve stimulation and its effects on inflammation. Today, as a Doctor of Natural Medicine and veteran instructor, he carries that work forward as the next generation of leadership at Pain Free For Life.

Pain Free For Life Podcast Episode Spotlight: Dr. Rob’s Story

If you want the personal backstory behind Pain Free For Life, start with this inaugural episode. Dr. Rob shares his experience living with significant scoliosis as a kid, and how microcurrent became part of his path to feeling steadier in his body again.

What “Small But Mighty” Looks Like in Real Life

So what does all of this mean when a box shows up at your door?

It means that when one of our Avazzia Life microcurrent devices arrives, there’s a very real chance Dr. Rob packed that box himself. He’s checking your order, placing the device and accessories by hand, and making sure it’s ready for you!

It also means that when you call in with a question or concern, the calm, reassuring voice on the other end may be Dr. Lorry, co-creator of The Hache Protocol™, drawing on decades of experience in microcurrent therapy and psychology to help you feel steadier and clearer about what to do next.

And when a shipment goes sideways, it’s often Robin Yazzie who rolls up her sleeves, drives to the shipping center, and sorts it out in person so your package does not sit forgotten on a shelf.

Behind them is a small, international team spread across Canada, the Philippines, the U.S., and beyond. Treatment Coordinators who carefully review intake forms. Client care specialists who answer emails one by one. Engineers and artisans who handcraft and test the tools we send out into the world. That also includes a name some of you may be familiar with, Annie Svensen, our Lead Microcurrent Treatment Coordinator, who collaborates with Dr. Rob on regular Q&As, training events, and practical guidance to help clients stay consistent and confident.
