If you suffer from rheumatoid arthritis, you know how miserable this inflammatory autoimmune disorder can make you feel. The experience of being in constant pain combined with the frustration of lost mobility and, often, the inability to perform even simple everyday tasks often leads to chronic or severe symptoms of anxiety and depression. In a word, it sucks.
To make matters worse, because this disease behaves differently in every patient, rheumatoid arthritis treatment is nearly as challenging for doctors as it is for patients. Not all patients have the same disease activity or response to conventional therapy. And sadly, even when conventional rheumatoid arthritis treatments do provide relief, in the long run they can at times be as damaging as the disease itself.
So what about natural methods? These are usually far safer, but for many, it’s hard to imagine that a natural remedy could even come close to providing the level of pain relief we have come to expect from pharmaceutical medicine. And it’s true—there are a lot of natural treatments out there that are less than effective.
But there is hope. Our founder, Dr. John Hache, was able to resolve his own rheumatoid arthritis through natural methods, and since then has helped hundreds of patients do it too- even ones who had lost hope that they’d ever lead a normal life again.
To understand how, let’s first explore the nature of this disease, and the reasons it’s so difficult to treat.
What is Rheumatoid Arthritis?
A chronic, autoimmune inflammatory condition, rheumatoid arthritis is most well-known for painful swelling and, in severe cases, joint deformity and erosion. But because it is systemic, inflammatory arthritis affects more than just joints. It can also impact many different body systems. In addition to crippling joint pain, people with rheumatoid arthritis may experience:
- frequent headaches
- muscle spasms
- weird tingling sensations
- disturbed sleep
- dry eyes and mouth
- impaired vision
- skin issues
- shortness of breath
- nerve and/or organ damage
- and/or anemia.
According to an article in The Journal of Rheumatology (January, 2012), patient-reported symptoms didn’t always correlate to visible symptoms, such as joint swelling, or laboratory tests, in the DAS28.
Why Do Conventional Rheumatoid Arthritis Treatments Fail?
The goal of conventional medicine in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and other inflammatory autoimmune disorders is twofold: to reduce the immune cells that are attacking the body, and to relieve pain. It sounds good in theory, but in many cases the medications used to do this can be as damaging to the body as rheumatoid arthritis.
One example is a drug originally designed to treat cancer. Methotrexate, a chemotherapeutic drug, is popularly prescribed not only as a rheumatoid arthritis treatment but also for other autoimmune disorders. This medication requires frequent laboratory tests to ensure that the liver continues to function within an acceptable range as well as other supplements. As if the expense and inconvenience of this frequent testing weren’t enough, many of the side effects of methotrexate share symptoms with rheumatoid arthritis and in some cases enhance them. Makes you wonder what’s the point, doesn’t it?
While medicines like methotrexate work to combat a malfunctioning immune system by turning it off – a strategy best avoided at all costs, medicines designed to ease pain can also be problematic for patients. The long-term effects of anti-inflammatory medications can cause kidney damage, stomach ulcers and heart problems. Even over-the-counter medications, such as ibuprofen, can be very damaging. Opioids, can cause liver and other organ damage and in many cases, patients can become addicted.
The approach of simply slowing the progression of the disease and relieving the pain ultimately leads to patients developing a tolerance for the medication and need for more extreme treatments. Essentially, conventional medicine only combats the symptoms, not the disease. And, because reaching a diagnosis can take a number of years, treatment often starts long after the patient begins experiencing pain and discomfort.
Moreover, while the pain and inflammation are not being resolved, the body continues to degenerate behind the mask of pain management drugs.
The Hache Protocol™: A Natural—and Effective—Rheumatoid Arthritis Treatment Without Drugs or Dangerous Side Effects
While conventional medicine merely scrambles to stay ahead of such an invasive disease, we at Pain Free for Life have developed another approach. The Hache Protocol for Pain Resolution™ is a unique and effective alternative treatment for rheumatoid arthritis and other autoimmune disorders that offers lasting relief without the unfortunate side effects that so often accompany conventional methods.
As naturopaths, our founders, Drs. John and Lory Hache, have had the opportunity to see in a clinical setting how the human body can heal and regenerate from debilitating illnesses—under the right circumstances. They developed The Hache Protocol after as a result of seeing what worked—and what didn’t—for thousands of patients over the course of many years. What they discovered was that there is no magic bullet that will resolve a painful chronic condition. Rather, the right combination of the right natural approaches, when adapted properly to the individual and followed consistently, will nearly always result in significant improvement, and often complete resolution of the condition—even in people who had given up hope of ever feeling well again.
What is the Hache Protocol for Pain Resolution™? Very briefly, it’s a simple but powerful program that safely and effectively relieves chronic or acute pain naturally, without needles, drugs, or unwanted side effects. The Hache Protocol consists of 5 interactive elements we’ve identified over 30 years of clinical practice to be essential in helping patients recover from severe or debilitating pain. These are:
- Stress Reduction
- Sleep, and
Microcurrent therapy uses very low, safe levels of electrical current to resolve and often eliminate pain. Why electricity? Because the body itself is electric: cell to cell communication takes place through electrical impulses. By using frequencies the body understands, we can essentially reprogram the way the body talks to itself so that misfiring neurons begin to act normally again.
While microcurrent can help to normalize many functions within the body, it is especially useful for reducing the root of nearly all disease, inflammation. When used with the other elements of the protocol, microcurrent therapy is thus a very effective way to help treat pain and allow patients to lead a more active lifestyle.
In essence, conventional medicine simply wants to reduce pain. The Hache Protocol™ addresses the cause of it. We take a very different approach than the experience most patients have had with conventional doctors. With the Hache Protocol, patients do not have a passive role but rather are active partners in their own healing and recovery. While microcurrent therapy is the “secret sauce” of The Hache Protocol™, it’s important to keep in mind that it must be used properly along with the other elements to produce ideal results. Lifestyle needs and changes, emotional health, nutrition, sleep, all natural medication, and microcurrent treatment are all explored in the protocol for effective recovery.

Rheumatoid arthritis and other autoimmune disorders often seem insidious to patients due to widespread pain and swelling. For patients at the mercy of conventional medicine, treatment merely compounds the problem and leads to more physical and mental health problems than before. It can be very difficult to see “the light at the end of the tunnel” when the best a medical doctor can do is provide highly addictive medications and treatments that can destroy organs.
