Welcome to the Pain Free for Life podcast. In this episode, Dr. Rob Vanbergen is joined by Heather Kent who is a registered psychotherapist and bestselling author of titles such as “Heal From Your Narcissistic Ex” and “I Left My Toxic Relationship, Now What?”.

There is a significant connection between pain and the PTSD people suffer from traumatic experiences. There is a large stigma around PTSD and those who can suffer from it. PTSD can occur through any sort of trauma that a person goes through and often goes undiagnosed because they are not the common forms of trauma associated with PTSD. Trauma physically alters the brain and as a result, the nervous system is affected. As a result, there is a physical toll taken on the body that can manifest in different forms of chronic pain.
